Wave propagation can occur in various area such as physics, biology, chemical kinetics, and so on. In particular, excitable media, which are often modeled by nonlinear PDEs, can support abundant spatiotemporal dynamics. In this talk, we focus on a free boundary problem in two-dimensional excitable media arising from a singular limiting problem of a FitzHugh-Nagumo-type reaction-diffusion system. The existence, uniqueness and stability of traveling curved waves will be discussed. This is a joint work with Hirokazu Ninomiya (Meiji University).
